Why I turn from a Technical Analysis fanatic to a Price Action Manipulation trader?

The worse is sometimes after it reverses against me; the stock went up and hit my intended Target Price. As a trader who traded the markets before, I believe you would be able to understand the frustration and helpless feeling that even when you make a lost, you have no idea why price is moving like this.

Like many aspiring traders, I started my trading journey by enrolling myself into technical analysis oriented programs, read many books and surf the internet for technical analysis information. I thought that knowing more about technical analysis will help me understand the inner workings of the market better. I was taught to see candlestick patterns and indicators likesome sort of “magic” behind price movement. And my chart becomes something like this when I start my trading journey.

I thought I felt more secure as I put up more indicators but I soon realize that I am trading the indicators and not price action. And I am often too late when price moves because indicators are lagging. In classic Donald trump language – looks good for marketing but never going to work.
I became very proficient in knowing the What of trading: candlestick patterns, indicators and economics of trading but I never get the right answer to How to trade the price manipulation?
However, it was only after I started trading professionally as a professional futures trader that I learnt the true inner workings of the market. As an institutional trader, I am honoured to have the unique opportunity to trade alongside some of the best traders in the SIMEX pit era. And over the years, I met many brokers, exchange personnel and even market makers themselves. And one of the common themes I learnt was that the market is mostly rigged against majority of the retailers because of the lack of information on trading price action manipulation.

I began to take out the indicators one by one and focus solely on price action itself and researching on the façade behind price movement. It is only then that I was able to trade more confidently and understand how price move the way they do. My chart eventually becomes something like this (below). This simple chart shows plenty of information about price manipulation. If I am still using indicators or trend line filled charts, I would not be able to see through the BMP manoeuvre in the market.

The good news is that price action manipulation trading is easily replicable and can help one cut short their learning curve tremendously. The retailers can level the playing field and gain similar edge by trading alongside these BMP by deciphering their price action intention using pure bars and charts. If I can do it, so can you![/vc_column_text][stm_post_bottom][stm_post_about_author][stm_post_comments][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][stm_sidebar sidebar=”311″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”third_bg_color” css=”.vc_custom_1451889219674{margin-bottom: -60px !important;}”][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
